Goodbye Card Table!

Our most recent purchase for the house was a French Oak Harvest table for our breakfast area that we purchased at our favorite place, the Austin Auction! It was a great find and we are loving having a real table to eat on as oppose to the card table that we have communed around for the past 10 months. Now we just have to find some real chairs to go around it instead of the card table chairs and window treatments so we're not spotlighted by our neighbors as they drive into their driveway at night! Also notice in the background, our new refrigerator that we are really proud of especially since it took Jarrod & 2 guys taking our front door off the hinges to get it into the house!

Gaither Family Reunion 2009

We enjoyed time with the Gaither family relaxing at the lakehouse in Louisiana & eating lots of yummy food. One of Jarrod's cousins brought a new toy this year -- a lounging raft! The weight limit on the package said 1800 lbs & I'm pretty sure we pushed it to the limit!

the loungin' raft... it was all fun and games until the adults joined the party later...the boys caught lots of catfish that we grilled; the top one is the biggest catch of the weekend...

2 Down, Forever to go!

Jarrod & I had our 2 year anniversary this month. Last month's trip to Mexico was the celebration so we didn't really do much, but we did buy each other some new tennis shoes as an anniversary gift to each other -- I know, how romantic!

Game, Set, Match...

This past weekend I played in an area tennis tournament, the first tournament I've played in over 10 years! Since college, I had played in leagues in Dallas and just got back on a team here in Austin this Spring. I have had so much fun being back on the court after about a 6 month break during the move process. It has also been a wonderful way to meet some great girls in this area. The tournament this past weekend was very small so at our level there were only 4 girls in the singles bracket. We played a round robin & 3 of us were tied in matches won at the end so it went down to games won. It was very close, but I came out on top. It was a little hot & humid at times and I didn't know whether my body would hold up, but it was a fun time and great practice. My legs & back are definitely feeling it today!
